8/3/2023 0 Comments Yakuza 0 majima cult![]() There are 100 substories in the game, Kiryu having 60 and Majima having 40. Some encounters were quite challenging and demanded I pay attention, one mistake can cost you quite a bit of health. Yakuza 0 Majima Substories Substories are the side quests in this game. Yakuza 0 is one of the most important games in the series, with this prequel finally opening the doors for one of Japans most over-the-top and entertaining series to make a massive mark in the West. When you’re fighting a big bad guy Yakuza 0 makes sure you know it, making triumph over them all the sweeter. Beating up cocky Yakuza henchmen never gets old, and thanks to a fantastic localisation, a lot of the more significant fights have great build-up. If I recall correctly, I played it for roughly 130h, almost to 100 completion and these were some of the most memorable 130h Ive had in a while. I have rarely seen so much diverse and high quality contented crammed into a single game. Kiryu’s are a little more traditional than Majima’s, who employs the use of a baseball bat and break-dancing. Yakuza 0 takes place more than a decade before the events of Yakuza Kiwami and explores Kiryus early days as a criminal. 1 Its been almost exactly a year since I bought Y0 and Im still in awe of that game. Combat is carried out with punches and kicks, with each character having three distinct fighting styles. ![]() As someone who loved Majima in 0 I cant say I'm not a bit dissapointed in knowing I'll probably not see more of the character I fell in love with in 0.As Kiryu (and a little later as Majima) you’ll spend most of your time dealing with the various crime families, a mysterious Real Estate Agency that even has the Yakuza running scared and a large number of side activities including hitting a few balls at the batting range, karaoke (complete with a button-mashing rhythm game), ten-pin bowling, Mah Jong and more. they absolutely feel like two completely different characters. A fluid and balanced combination of punches, high kicks, elbow strikes, and counters, based off of street fighting, with liberal use of sneak attacks and other dishonest forms of fighting. Majima felt like a character capable of being underhanded, and game-ifying social interaction that way felt appropriate. Majima's canonical style throughout Yakuza 0. I understand this is how Majima has been from the beginning and 0 just being a prequel but. Having played 0 first, I actually kind of liked the cabaret club 'dates' with the hostesses to get in their head and to motivate them. I thought about making this thread then but I guessed I might get more answers in Kiwami, which I'm playing right now, but the first time we meet him there he's even more crazy! The guy straight up brutalizes one of his subordinates with a umbrella and is about to kill him before Kiryu stops him. ![]() And the explanation we get is that he's supposedly gonna start living for no one else than himself and let loose more? ummm. which is in stark contrast to the substories in the game that. He goes from being a somewhat calm "good guy" to this crazy guy dressed in leather pants who calls the other protagonist "KAZUUUMAA-CHAAAN". The first thing that most people will notice about Yakuza 0 is the fact that the main plot is incredibly serious and well-told. So earlier this summer I completed my first Yakuza game with 0 (loved it!), but as someone who's new to the series I gotta say I really don't understand the change Goro Majima goes through.
